Northwest Health – Porter Announces New Board Members

Ashley Dickinson, chief executive officer for Northwest Health, recently welcomed three new members to the Northwest Health - Porter board of trustees: Audra Peterson, Dr. Tarek Braik, and Dr. Omar Barakat.  

“These leaders bring a valued perspective to the hospital’s board of trustees,” said Dickinson. Their unique professional experience and areas of interest will be instrumental in guiding the hospital’s mission and vision.”

Audra Peterson, a Chesterton resident, serves as executive director of career and technical education for Porter County Education Services where she manages the career and technical programming for all of the Porter County High Schools and Hobart High School.  

Omar Barakat, M.D., is a vascular and interventional radiologist with Radiologic Associates of Northwest Indiana. Dr. Barakat is a member of the medical staff at Northwest Health – Porter. He resides with his family in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Tarek Braik, M.D., is an oncologist/hematologist with Northwest Medical Group and is a member of the medical staff at Northwest Health – Porter. Dr. Braik resides in Valparaiso with his wife, Dr. Helda Barakat, and two children.
