About
Helda Barakat, M.D., received her medical degree from University of Baghdad before completing an internship at the Arab Medical Center in Amman, Jordan. She worked as an in-house internal medicine physician at the King Hussein Cancer Center and the Istiklal Hospital, both in Amman, Jordan.
She then completed a residency in internal medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, and worked as a primary care physician at St. Mary’s Internal Medicine in Streator, IL, and later at Kymera Independent Physicians in Roswell, NM.
Board certified in internal medicine and an associate member in the American College of Physicians, Dr. Barakat provides care for adults with chronic disease and acute illness and counsels her patients about preventive medicine. She has a special interest in endocrinology, rheumatology and cosmetic dermatology. In-office procedures include botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers and the treatment of dermatological diseases.
